Experiential Design

American Express Desert Ridge Campus

A narrative art program exploring creativity, innovation, and the many ways people shape the world.

Located on the Desert Ridge campus of American Express, the McDowell Building houses engineers developing new technologies for the company. The experiential graphics program builds on conference rooms named for writers, artists and poets through a narrative titled The World We Build.

Four murals explore creative disciplines including poetry, visual arts, and literature, each tied to the conference rooms on that floor. A 160-foot composite mural brings the themes together, illustrating the natural world, the built environment, science, and the arts.

65 framed artworks and brand-aligned signage reinforce the story throughout the building.
