Tempe Public Art Walking Maps

The Tempe Public Art Walking Maps are two illustrated maps created to guide residents and visitors through the city’s public art collection. One map highlights artworks around Tempe Town Lake, while the other focuses on the vibrant downtown district.

Each map invites the community to explore the area on foot, connecting a series of public artworks with recognizable landmarks such as A Mountain and the historic Valley Art Theater. Through clear visual storytelling and playful illustration, the maps transform the city into an accessible gallery woven into the urban landscape.

Created as a celebration of Tempe’s creative community, the project reflects a simple belief: when public art is visible and accessible, it strengthens connection to place, to culture, and to one another.
